Install & Distribution Notes
Homebrew is recommended. DMG/PKG are fallback options.
Some macOS install paths require administrator permission. We request sudo only when needed for system-level install steps.
Why sudo appears
sudo is used to place the app in protected system locations (for example /Applications) with correct ownership and permissions.
Open source, fully auditable
All app and installer logic is open source, so anyone can inspect exactly what runs before granting privileges.
Independent distribution
We intentionally ship outside Apple-controlled distribution channels to keep installation policy transparent and under user control.
Recommended install order
1) Homebrew (best) > 2) DMG > 3) PKG / manual
